Re>Think Local is an intentionally multi-partisan organization, doggedly focused on positive solutions and collective learning. We welcome all honest discourse and invite everyone to debate with one another through respectful and relevant conversations. Help us create a thriving community by respecting others and keeping on topic. We want everyone to feel comfortable about posting their comments and asking questions.
Angry rants and inflammatory messages designed to foster arguments are not helpful and may be removed. If you disagree with a post or comment, please engage in the conversation with respect, constructive criticism, curiosity and open-mindedness. Any comments with profanities, abusive, threatening, racist, sexist, defamatory, or obscene content will be removed. Please keep your comments relevant. Comments that are unrelated to the conversation (including blatant advertisements and solicitations) may be removed.
Re>Think Local is committed to protecting your privacy.
Website Visitor Data
You can visit most portions of rethinklocal.org without telling us who you are and without revealing any personal information. The only information we collect from a website visit is the name of your internet service provider, the browser and type of machine you are using, the website that referred you to us, the pages you request and the date, time, and geographic location (city, state and country only) from which you request them. We use this information to generate statistics and measure site activity in order to improve the quality of our site to our visitors. This is standard practice.
We do encourage you to voluntarily share your email address and other personally identifiable information with us, because we can’t build the movement we need without you. All such information is collected and stored in a manner appropriate to the nature of the data. We makes every effort to insure the secure collection and transmission of sensitive user information using industry-accepted data collection and encryption methodologies.
Re>Think Local does not sell or otherwise disclose user information outside the organization for commercial purposes. If you sign up to receive updates from us or if you register for any of our events or services, we commit to providing you with accurate and timely information about our activities. While the vast majority of communications will come to you directly from Re>Think Local, some information on our lists, such as your name and email, may be provided to trusted allies from time to time. These allies may, for example, be organizing related events in your community.
You may opt out of communication from us at any time.

Re>Think Local does not sell, trade or share our donors’ or members’ personal information with anyone else, nor do we send mailings on behalf of other organizations. We will only share personal information if a donor or member has given us specific permission to do so.
We primarily use PayPal to securely process a charitable contribution, membership or event fee or product purchase, but in some cases it may be necessary for Re>Think Local to gather the visitor’s name, email address, mailing address, phone and credit card information. This data is used to verify identity and execute the financial transaction. Additionally, phone number and email address information may be used to contact visitors if there is a problem with the transaction. If you choose to make an online monetary transaction with Re>Think Local, your credit card information will be used only for this transaction either through PayPal or other secure online payment system.
